Apple Amnesty - Swap your apples for cider

24th August 2016

Trenchmore Farm in Cowfold, the home of Silly Moo cider, will be open to swap any unwanted, clean, unsprayed, Sussex apples on Sunday 11th September for earlies and then Saturdays and Sundays during October between 10am - 12noon. Your apples will be weighed and you'll be given an IOU. In the Spring you can collect your bottles of Silly Moo Cider.
For every 5 kilos of apples you will receive 1 bottle of cider - last years swappers collected over 1000 bottles of cider and tonnes of unwanted apples were pressed and added to the cider apple juice from the orchard at Trenchmore.
The team at Trenchmore in Cowfold are looking for clean, unsprayed, ripe Sussex grown apples, any variety - cooking or eating. They will be juiced and fermented in small batches and, after much fettling and blending, the cider will be bottled. Each year is slightly different - the weather, the varieties and where they are grown will go to make the cider unique.
Any queries please get in touch or facebook, tell your friends and don't let any Sussex apples go to waste.

You can buy Silly Moo Cider in the Sussex Food Hall at the South Downs Heritage Centre.
