Paynes South Downs Bee Farms

Home Of The Honey Bee

Paynes, based in Hassocks, West Sussex was started in 1922 by Fred Payne. With just a few hives, he became well known in the beekeeping world, and went from supplying his honey locally to selling a wide range of specialist honeys from around the world.

We have a hive in our museum which is maintained and cared for by Paul Payne, to produce honey for the food hall.  Visit us to see the bees in action and grab a jar of their delicious honey at the same time!
