Artists & Makers

Rebecca Heane and Alison Hughes

We met in Cornwall and realised we had a mutual interest in design and that we shared an aesthetic vision of Cornwall. From this love of the county and our shared experience, Cream Cornwall has evolved.

Rebecca’s background is in textiles. Her experience includes producing her own range of hand dyed and printed scarves, accessories and bespoke fabrics for designers. Rebecca lived in Western Australia for 14 years but didn’t ever overcome her homesickness. Her longing for the aqua waters of the Atlantic and the clarity of the light drew her back to pursue her interests in interior design in Cornwall.

Allison worked as a design consultant in London for 22 years, trend and colour forecasting for apparel textiles. She felt the time was right for a change and had always loved Cornwall. Allison used to compare commuter journeys with family in Cornwall and the appeal of a journey to work through hedgerows and flowers won out over a commute along the Old Kent Road, and now she can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Our passion for the county and its colours is clear to see in Cream Cornwall’s products which showcase the many facets of Cornwall and its fascinating history. Drawing upon both landscape and legacy, Cream Cornwall conjures up images of windswept moors and maritime, cliffs and coastline, cottages and clotted cream. Evoking emotions and memories which are harnessed in the unique colours, prints and beautiful designs, Cream Cornwall allows you to bring the beauty of Cornwall home.
